The Bible tells us that God is love and that nothing can separate us from the love of God. When sin caused separation between God and man, it was the love of God that offered a way of redemption for man to be reconciled back to God. God proved his love by sending the greatest gift that could be sent to mankind. History tells us of extravagant gifts that have been given through the ages. Many of them, have been gifts of unimaginable worth. But there is no greater gift than the gift that God the Father gave when He sent is only Son Jesus to this earth to be the Redeemer of the world. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son.” Romans 8:32 tells us, “He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all.” God looked down in eternal love on his creation and gave the greatest gift that could be given. The gift of Jesus Christ.
When writing this song, we wanted to tell the entire story of Christ - his birth, life, death, and resurrection. But we did not want to end there! Our hope is in Christ and His return! It all builds to us spending eternity praising Him.
The verses ask "Who is this?" while the chorus exclaims "It is Christ!" He is mighty to save, and one day all will bow before Him!
