Jesus Christ went to the cross and was crucified for you and for me. When the work of salvation was complete, Jesus cried from the cross, “It is Finished”, and He gave up the ghost and died. His body was wrapped in burial cloth and placed into a borrowed tomb. The tomb was sealed with a large stone and a watch was set outside the tomb. To the world, the great Miracle-Worker was dead. But there was one more miracle that was going to take place. In 3 days, Jesus would perform the Greatest Miracle. On that first Resurrection Sunday morning, Jesus would rise from the dead and would walk out of that tomb proving His power over death, hell, and the grave. He would ascend to His Heavenly Father and offer His precious, sinless blood as the final offering for our sin. Hebrews 9:11-12 says, “But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.” Because of the precious blood of Jesus, though our sins be as scarlet they can be washed white as snow. Because He lives, we have hope and victory in this life!
